˙Kao Yuan Junior College of Technology was established by Yueh-ing Yu-Chen (founder) Ling-ya Yu(chairwoman) and a number of education-conscientious board members in Southern Taiwan. |

˙Ministry of Education(MOE) officially approved Kao Yuan to admit students and Professor Feng-Jeng Liaw was appointed as Principal. |

˙Kao Yuan Junior College of Technology was renamed Kao Yuan Junior College of Technology and Commerce. |

˙1995 |
˙Kao Yuan established the Junior College Program of Continuing Education, a diploma-awarding program. |

˙1998 |
˙The college became the Kao Yuan Institute of Technology (KYIT) and a two-year college program was established. The original Junior College and the Junior College Program of Continuing Education, now divisions of KYIT, continued to admit students. The original Night School was officially designated as the Department of Continuing Education. |

˙KYIT started to run four-year college programs. |

˙KYIT set up the College of Continuing Education, an undergraduate program. |

˙KYIT set up the Institute of Operation and Management. The Department of Information Management and Communication was divided into two departments: the Department of Information Management and the Department of Information Communication. |

˙The Department of Chemical Engineering was renamed the Department of Biochemical Engineering. |

˙The Graduate School of Environmental Polymer Materials was established. The Department of Architectural Engineering was renamed the Department of Architecture and the International Trade Department became the Department of Finance. |

˙KYIT was renamed Kao Yuan University, consisting of three colleges: Engineering, Mechatronic, and Business and Management. |

˙The Graduate School of Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Road Technology and Architecture were set up and the Department of Automation Engineering was renamed the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering. |

˙The Graduate School of Environmental Polymer Materials was renamed the Graduate School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, the Graduate School of Road Technology became the Graduate School of Civil Engineering, the Department of Biochemical Engineering became the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and the Department of Finance became the Department of International Business. |
